In wind turbine systems, the planetary gear system is a crucial component that helps convert the rotational energy of the blades into electrical power. Within the planetary gear system, bearings play a key role in supporting various rotating components and ensuring smooth operation.
If the bearings supporting the planetary gears experience premature wear due to extreme operating conditions, including high loads and fluctuating wind speeds, accelerated aging of the bearings can lead to vibrations and impact the overall performance of the wind turbine.
Therefore in March, 2022, upon receiving an inquiry from a German customer, our engineering team decided to upgrade the bearings to a high-performance specialized type designed for heavy loads and extreme conditions, based on our experience collaborating with domestic industry clients. After confirming with the customer and arranging a trial order for testing, the customer expressed satisfaction with the high reliability demonstrated by the planetary gear system of the wind turbine, bulk order was confirmed smoothly.
The new bearings are capable of withstanding challenging conditions, reducing wear, and minimizing vibrations. As a result, the operational efficiency of the wind turbine is improved, downtime is reduced, overall power generation increases, and the reliability and lifespan of the equipment are significantly enhanced.
