-Enhancing Elevator Traction Machine Power Transmission Capabilities to Improve Overall Elevator Performance
In September 2021, a Turkish customer in the elevator industry approached us, complaining about the persistent elevator bearing problems they had been experiencing for a long time. These issues included excessive bearing vibration, poor balance, high noise levels, and short lifespan, which severely impacted the normal operation and user experience of the elevators. The customer was very troubled by these problems and hoped that we could provide an effective solution.
After understanding the customer's needs, we recommended the QIBR angular contact ball bearings, which are particularly suitable for the traction wheels of high-speed elevators. By using these bearings, the transmission and delivery capabilities of the elevator traction machine can be significantly optimized, thereby greatly improving the overall performance of the elevator. The customer accepted our suggestion and verified the superior performance of the QIBR angular contact ball bearings in actual use, ultimately successfully solving their long-standing elevator bearing issues.
Here are the details of this case,
1. Challenges
The elevator traction machine is a key component of the elevator operation, responsible for conveying and transmitting power. Common types of bearings for elevator traction sheaves are spherical roller bearings, deep groove ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings and angular contact ball bearings. Since the traction sheave bearing is subject to the force exerted by the traction steel belt or wire rope when rolling, it is difficult for the traction sheave to meet the requirements of vibration level, temperature change and sealing performance when it moves, stops and changes direction at high frequencies, resulting in poor stability, high noise and shortening the life of the elevator.
2. Solutions
QIBR has made systematic improvements and optimizations to the problems of elevator motor bearings. The bearings are improved according to the actual working conditions of elevator operation. QIBR technicians design angular contact ball bearings that meet the requirements according to customer requirements, from material selection and formula design, smelting and casting, heat treatment, to processing and surface treatment, and check every level. Finally, the bearings are quality inspected.
After the angular contact ball bearing samples are produced, radial load and axial load are applied to the bearings through the hydraulic loading system. The radial load is 16.8kN, the axial load is 13.5kN, and the test speed is 600r/min. It is used to simulate the actual working conditions of the traction wheel bearing. The test time is 120 hours continuously.
The test data shows that the inner diameter range of the bearing is 40-100mm, the maximum axial load is 15KN. The maximum radial load is 50KN, the working noise does not exceed 65dB, and the output pressure of the loading system is stable, and the load error is less than 2%.
- The ability of the elevator traction machine to transport and transmit power is optimized.
- The working efficiency and operating stability of the elevator motor are improved.
- Reduced maintenance and replacement costs due to bearing failure.
- Improved overall performance and safety of the elevator system.
- Reduced downtime and failure risk of elevators due to bearing problems.
